#23 (Week 9) End of Learning 2.0

Hurray! Fabulous, Fantastic, Extremely Great! I could hear someone saying (screaming...) all these to me for finishing 23 things on Learning 2.0. I am surprised who was that, but seen no one, except me. It's my mind. Coming to the end of this Web 2.0 journey, I feel honestly that, my skills have enriched, learnt new technologies, increased self-confidence, good team-play, opportunity to see our thoughts and feelings in a different way, improvements on own production, get to see the instant results and so on. I have filled in the survey too. Fabulous, Fantastic, Extremely Great! No surprise, I am saying this to all who have designed this module and special thanks to Manukau Libraries for giving us the opportunity to enhance our skills.

#22 (Week 9) eBook

I have made a search for "The Ramayana" by Valmiki and "History of India" and some other titles. The results were pretty good and it was amazed to see the huge Ramayana as a eBook and accessible wherever we are with internet facility. I have tried reading my eBooks in HTML, Plain Text and also PDF format. I honestly feel that PDF format is good to read and pages seems friendly though, but handling chapter by chapter was bit difficult as we need to scroll down and it takes time to go to our preferred chapter. HTML has good access to chapters, but the reading format is not friendly especially if want to read a big novel. Above all, it is great to preserve the hardcopy and any precious collection and handling is very easy.
Kindle is marvellous. OCLC is doing a great job and very professional. Hats off technology!

#21 (Week 9) Podcast

Perhaps there are lots of it, Podcast seems to be a straightforward. I liked the hit results page and it's tidy look. I have explored on Library podcasts and Podcast Alley. As I don't like the Podcast Alley, I have not added to my bloglines account. But I liked the one What is new at the Lunar and Planetary Institute Library and I have added this to my bloglines account.

#20 (Week 9) You Tube

You Tube is impressive and it is nice to see the videos rather than the text and picture. I caught up this video from my hit lists for the search to Library Videos. There are few other videos I was impressed with and chosen this one as I liked the rhythm of it. Perhaps, You Tube can be effectively used for promotional purposes in all libraries, it is effective on academic websites to market their resources and facitlities.

#17 (Week 7) Social Networking

Hurray! I had finished this challenging week and on my quit, though I feel confident on but not feeling comfortable. My space experience is fine and ofcourse I enjoyed it. If I would say about Face Book and Bebo, perhaps I have enjoyed exploring it but not feeling comfortable when I got messages back. I do not know, how many of you did like this but I don't like these two social networkings. Anyway, I had a good opportunity to explore on all. If I come across people talking about these social networkings and or needing some help from me, I can help them and also show off my knowledge on it. Hope each had a different experience and also has different opinions.
